FAQs

  • Yes! Please fill out my contact form and tell me a bit about what you would like to commission. Then once I have come back to you we can have a conversation about how to make those artwork dreams come true!

Sometimes I can be quite busy with commissions and other art, so if you are looking for a piece to be delivered by a certain date please reach out as early as possible to avoid disappointment and make sure this is possible.

  • I will always ask for at least two high quality photos. If you have one photo that you would really like painted, we can discuss this and I will have a look to make sure the photo is clear and detailed enough to work from.

When painting pets it is especially important for me to have high quality photos so I can clearly see your pet in all their glory to recreate their unique features.

I may also talk to you about what you are hoping for in your commission or what elements of the photos you provided that you like the most so I can be sure to include them in your piece.

  • For commissioned pieces of pets I usually work with pastels and pan pastels on high quality pastelmat paper, this allows me to find the finer details in furry pet’s coats, feathered friends plumage and pick out the spark in their eyes.

For paitings of people I like to work in oils for that painterly finish, bringing character to the people in the work through each stroke of the paintbrush.

I am always exploring new techniques and mediums in my own practice, so I am always open to my style developing. If you would like to discuss the medium of your commision idea, feel free to ask.

  • Each piece is individually priced. My prices are based on costs of materials, complexity of the piece, size of the artwork and time spent making the artwork.
If you would like a quote, please get in touch.

  • Yes! I prefer to deliver my artwork framed as it ensures the piece stays protected on it’s journey to you. Framing can be discussed when planning your commision and will be added to the final cost of your art.

  • I have completed pastel pieces within 3 - 6 weeks from starting. Oil paintings can take longer due to the nature of the medium being very slow to dry. I cannot guarentee a standard turnaround time, however when discussing your commission I will always aim to give you a rough timeline and I will keep you updated as the piece is nearing completion.

There are several factors to bare in mind that may determine how quickly I can get your art to you:
    - Other commissions or work I may have lined up
    - Complexity of the piece
    - Availability of any specific supplies needed for your piece
    - The medium of the artwork
    - General availability

I will always do my best to be as transparent as possible when disscussing time frames completion of your commission.

  • Yes, I have displayed at art fairs in the past. I usually choose to display at fairs local to me in the North-East. Maybe one day I will take my art to other fairs across the country, who knows?
